About Us
So nice to finally meet you!
My name is Jenessa and I am located in Toronto, Ontario on the traditional territory of many Nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
I am on a journey to sustainable living in the city and I want to welcome you to join me by making changes to your own lives in whichever way is accessible to you. I recognize the spectrum and intersectionality of what environmentalism means to each individual and I urge you not to try to define it.
I have always loved the word Jaded, to me it means more than a feeling of resentment or defeat. It is about learning from your past and moving forward using your experiences to guide your future choices. It is a tool we can use to shape our decision making. The more we learn about the climate crisis, social injustices or whatever it is that grinds your gears - you may feel jaded. I say embrace it as your fire, let it fuel you to determine your tomorrow.
"Let's take down the perfectionist stigma associated with a sustainable life. In the words of Anne-Marie Bonneau 'We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.'" - Elle, @consciouslyelle
My journey to sustainability is imperfect, and it's supposed to be. Every day I am learning new tips and tricks to lead a life that is more natural, organic, eco-friendly and ethical while reducing waste. I am dedicated to sharing my findings with you so that you can incorporate sustainable changes and alternatives in your life too.
Yours truly,
Jenessa
